Protect Your Loved Ones

We reside in a crazy, dangerous world. Kids are kidnapped every day, seniors get lost regularly, and teen drivers get in accidents due to a great number of mistakes they make. People,in general, want the peace and relaxation of knowing where their family members are. Personal GPS tracking locators could be a solution to create much less stress and tension for them.

Personal GPS locators use the same engineering as real time GPS trackers for vehicles. They allow the user to set up perimeters of where they want want or don't want family members going (Geo-fencing). The devices will deliver messages to cell phones, information, or texts if the preset area the person is supposed to go is passed. They can also be used to monitor your teens actions and rate of speed, etc. while they are driving. Often they are smaller in size than a pager and are very light and durable. Most are created with sturdy army tested material and can therefore endure just about any form of environment the tracker may come across.

Have you, as a parent or guardian, ever lost track of your child in a highly populated area, such as a shopping mall or a theme park, even for just a split second? Try to be honest with yourself, I think most of us have. We all try to be ideal parents, but few of us can always handle the vigilance necessary. I remember a time when I was preoccupied from my 3 old son, just for a moment, when I was in a mall looking at some clothes. When I turned around, he was gone. My heart fell to my stomach. The anxiety and fear I felt was unrivaled to anything else I had ever come across. I frantically searched the shop, through all the clothes racks and dressing rooms, finally finding him hiding under the rack of clothes I was formerly looking at. If he had been wearing a personal GPS locator, I would have been readily able to find him. But, let's just say for argument's sake, the most severe scenario occurred and he was kidnapped. A system like this would have lead the police, or me, quickly to him, possibly saving his life.

A personal GPS locator can be used for your teenagers, as well. Say they want to go to a buddy's home in your community. You provide them with their system, which can be easily fit into their purse or pocket, and set up a secure location of where they are granted to go. If they go outside this set position, a message will be sent out to you via phone call, e-mail, or SMS. If you are parents or guardians of a latch-key-child, the locator can be placed in his or her backpack so that you know they got home okay.

There are locators that can fit on your key chain. I have seen many people put tennis balls on their antennas so they can find their vehicles in packed parking lots. This appears to be ridiculous, right? The key chain finders allow the users to set their beginning sight before they depart the car. When they are done shopping, with the push of a button, they will be led right back to their car, showing them the route they need to take to get back to their cars. I have too many memories of returning from a vacation on a plane, coming out of an amusement park into the parking garage, or shopping in a busy mall, only to find out I have no idea where my car is. I have actually had to look for 2 hours to find my car. How embarrassing!

New teen drivers can be difficult to find. They have a recently discovered independence, and will try to take every advantage of that. If they have a GPS Tracker set up in their car, or their own individual tracker with them, they usually drive less carelessly than they would without one. The teenager knows he/she is being seen by mom and dad, and do not wish to give them the opportunity to take their driver's license away.

GPS locators can even be used on your household pets, believe it or not. They have collars for pets that allow the owners to set up a position where their pet is granted to go. If they go farther than that, you get a message. Of course, they can also be used to find your pet if they go missing or are stolen.

You here information about it each day. A senior citizen, usually one with Altheimers or Dementia, has gone missing. For the kids of these older adults, it is an incredibly concerning situation not knowin where they are and if they are safe. A lot of times, a senior citizen will hop into their vehicles and go for a drive, only to get lost along the way. I am sure you can see where a one of the above devices would be valuable in situations like this.

So, in reading this article, I hope to be able to have helped someone, anyone, to see where using personal GPS locators can be a valuable device.

Nice article, Jenn. I came to know about eZoom, an auto tracking and personal gps system from Securus Inc. This gps device helps for tracking teen drivers and your car, motorbikes and bicycles. eZoom uses GPS and cellular triangulation to accurately pinpoint locations.

Thank you for the compliment, Kathleen. I'll have to check out the Ezoom for my website. Sounds like another helpful gps for worried parents of teen drivers.
